Position Summary:
The HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations and ensuring alignment with organizational values and compliance standards. This role covers a broad spectrum of HR functions including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and support to managers and employees regarding employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation. Serves as advisor to managers on day-to-day employee relations issues and performance management. Guides managers through documentation of coaching. Applies Just Culture algorithm for consistency in employee relations and disciplinary actions. Manages thorough investigations, including documentation, investigation summary, and recommended actions. Reviews key metrics to evaluate areas of risk and culture. Reviews for trends; alerts HR Director and operations to concerns. Manages affiliate employee recognition programs; makes recommendations to improve recognition efforts across the organization. Facilitates exit interviews with departing employees. Supports Recruiter as needed to ensure timely and effective hiring of qualified candidates. Provides coverage of all recruitment needs in the absence of the Recruiter to ensure seamless operation of the recruitment function. Coordinates or assists with workers' compensation claims and ensures timely reporting and follow-up. Provides guidance on reasonable accommodations and ensures compliance with ADA regulations. Assists in identifying and mitigating workforce-related risks. Assists in interpreting affiliate and local HR policies, ensuring consistent and fair application across departments. Serves as a resource for employees and leaders regarding HR policies and procedures. Analyzes HR and engagement data to identify trends, support decision-making, and develop initiatives that enhance the employee experience. Drafts new and updated job descriptions and works with the Total Rewards Team to price. Contacts new employees at specific intervals to collect feedback about their experience. Assists HR Director to address identified concerns and promote a positive employee experience. Ensures employee records are maintained. Generates reports and follows up with HR compliance issues. Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered. 2-3 years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations including OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and workers' compensation. Experience with HRIS systems and recruiting tools. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information. PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
