Work Study Coordinator

The work study is responsible for assisting with the coordination, development, implementation and tracking of various group activities and individual services offered by Ivy Tech Community College. Provide direct support, guidance, and serve as a resource to students and help create a sense of belonging and inclusion on campus. Assist with the design and promotion of campus activities and referrals of community resources to provide complete service to Diversity, Equity & Belonging program participants. This will include Welcome Week, Mid-term and Finals Week activities. Assist with the recruitment of Single Mom learners from the broader Muncie/Henry County community to come to Ivy Tech. Assist with maintenance and planning of the monthly calendar of events held at the Intercultural Center for Inclusion. Assist with identifying, reviewing, and utilizing relevant research on wraparound services in higher education for students with children, maintain current knowledge of best practices. Create and implement a group mentoring program for Students of Color, Single Mom Learners and other Diverse Student populations. Assist with the coordination of programs on campus that raise awareness of needs of students with children, as well as the impact of poverty, mental health, trauma, and other external factors on academics, student success, persistence and retention. The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. To qualify for our Federal Work Study program students: Must be authorized to work in the United States Must have a high school diploma or GED. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester. Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file. Student must demonstrate financial need. Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.
