The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Resources is seeking a talented
Clinician II
to work as a Family Stabilization Specialist at the
Housing Resource Center.
The candidate will utilize comprehensive assessments to identify strengths and risk factors to support employment services provided to Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) individuals participating in the Virginia Initiative for Education and Work (VIEW) program; screen, assess, and provide services for participants who have difficulty securing and maintaining employment.

Representative Duties:
Collaborate with service providers to coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings to develop service plans for VIEW participants to encourage progress toward self-sufficiency. Operate within the mandates of VIEW policies to help participants overcome barriers, strengthen families and promote financial stability and career growth. Provide critical assistance in helping to remove barriers to individual's VIEW participation, stabilizing them in employment and assisting in addressing their families' needs. Apply proven service approaches and strategies that assist VIEW program participants to become more stabilized. Participate in the review and approval process of providing supportive services related to sustaining, maintaining or advancing in employment. Assist VIEW staff with the preparation and pre-review of a Needs Assessment and Tracking Form to ensure criteria is uniformly applied in accessing supportive services. Liaison for the Reaching Independence through Savings and Education (RISE) Match-Savings Program for Employed and Active TANF recipients. Domestic Violence Services
Domestic violence intervention and services in providing education, advocacy, case consultation, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning assistance. Promote Domestic Violence Awareness through articles, video and brochures, online resources and webinars; conduct domestic violence training. Monitor and provide fiscal oversight of the Domestic Violence Assistance Fund. Prevention and Education
Facilitate Domestic Violence educational workshops for program participants; Facilitate Domestic Violence educational in-services for Department of Human Services staff. Provide Healthy Relationship services to assist participants with identifying and building positive intimate relationships. Plan and participate in multi-disciplinary teams to support individuals as they prepare for and obtain employment. Liaison in facilitating referrals to the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and other community partners. **Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.
$1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck. $1,250 will be awarded upon completing the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations". $1,750 will be awarded upon completing the employee's one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations".
