Principal Technical Consultant, Environmental Toxicologist and Ecological Risk Assessor (Principal Level)

ERM is seeking an experienced

Principal Technical Consultant, Environmental Toxicologist and Ecological Risk Assessor

to join our expanding Risk Assessment practice. The successful candidate will lead expert ecological risk assessments, primarily focusing on oil and gas exploration sites in Gulf Coast wetland habitats. Positions are available in Baton Rouge, LA; New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Austin, TX; or Dallas, TX, based on the applicant's qualifications. Responsibilities:

Write, manage, and produce ecological risk assessments. Design and conduct biological field investigations. Manage, direct, and train junior staff. Research toxicities and physical/chemical properties of oil and gas constituents; develop site-specific risk assessment methods. Prepare expert reports, design field investigation plans, author technical papers, and conduct large-scale ecological risk assessments. Collaborate with senior staff to meet client objectives. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Communicate regularly with clients, regulators, and subcontractors. Requirements:

Master’s or Ph.D. in toxicology, environmental toxicology, chemistry, ecology, or related field. 6-8 years (preferably 10+ years) of relevant experience; consulting experience preferred. Experience testifying as an expert witness is a plus. Strong safety commitment and adherence to health and safety protocols. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in managing large datasets using MS Excel. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to client sites. Ability to work efficiently, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a consulting environment. About ERM:
