Principal Technical Consultant, Environmental Toxicologist and Ecological Risk Assessor
in our growing Risk Assessment practice. We are seeking an experienced professional to produce and direct expert ecological risk assessments, focusing on oil and gas exploration in Gulf Coast wetland habitats. Candidates may be based in Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA, Houston, TX, Austin, TX, or Dallas, TX, depending on qualifications. Responsibilities:
Write, manage, and produce ecological risk assessments. Design and conduct biological field investigations. Manage, direct, and mentor junior staff. Research toxicities and physical/chemical properties of oil and gas constituents, developing site-specific risk assessment methods. Prepare expert reports, design investigation plans, author technical papers, and conduct large-scale ecological risk assessments. Collaborate with senior staff to meet client goals. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Communicate regularly with clients, regulators, and subcontractors. Requirements:
Master’s or Ph.D. in toxicology, environmental toxicology, chemistry, ecology, or related field. 6-8 years (10+ preferred) of relevant experience; consulting experience is a plus. Experience testifying as an expert witness is preferred. Strong safety commitment and adherence to health and safety protocols. Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in managing and analyzing large datasets using MS Excel. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently.
