The Project Manager Cable is a key player in AWGs Renewable and Utility divisions, responsible for managing the full project lifecycle for complex cable orders. This position is focused on execution excellence- From procurement to final deliverythrough proactive planning, financial tracking, stakeholder coordination, and supply chain risk management.
This is a high-visibility role requiring strong cross-functional collaboration and vendor/customer engagement to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Coordination: Lead and manage end-to-end execution of active cable projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with scope and specifications. Act as the primary liaison between vendors, customers, and internal teams, ensuring alignment on project milestones. Oversee procurement drop ship purchase orders related to cable. Monitor project timelines and proactively mitigate risks to avoid delays or cost overruns. Ensure contract compliance and fulfillment of technical and commercial requirements.
Vendor & Customer Engagement Maintain strong vendor relationships to support supply chain performance and continuity. Coordinate closely with sales and engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to execution. Serve as the point of contact for customer project status updates, managing expectations and resolving concerns.
Financial & Risk Management Track project budgets, milestone-based invoicing, and payment terms, especially for long lead-time projects. Mitigate risks associated with long lead times, logistics, and procurement challenges. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and delivery targets.
Leadership & Team Development Provide training and mentorship to project managers and coordinators. Foster cross-functional collaboration between Sales, Logistics, Finance and Procurement teams.
Qualifications Strong knowledge of cable and procurement is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skill. Experience in Microsoft applications Strong knowledge Project Management Software (ex: smart sheets) Self motivated, always be positive and team player.
