Quality Technical Services Supervisor: Dakota, IL
Are you an experienced quality professional looking to take the next step in your food manufacturing career? Our client is seeking a Quality Technical Services Supervisor to support laboratory operations and drive continuous improvement across quality systems. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Lab Lead and Micro Lab Technicians, ensuring testing accuracy, documentation integrity, and compliance with internal, regulatory, and customer expectations. You will also play a key role in developing SOPs, supporting audits, mentoring staff, and serving as a backup to the Technical Services Manager. Key
Responsibilities:
Enforce GMPs, lab safety, and regulatory compliance (FDA, SQF, GFSI) Assist in daily lab operations: assigning tasks, verifying data, and maintaining timely testing protocols Facilitate clear communication of test results to QA, Production, and R&D teams Lead and document root cause investigations and corrective actions Create and update SOPs and quality policies in line with best practices Oversee third-party testing processes and sample submissions Manage lab scheduling and ensure adequate staffing coverage Monitor inventory and coordinate timely lab supply ordering Maintain audit-ready documentation for internal and external inspections Support audits, including documentation preparation and facility walkthroughs Assist with pest control, GMP audits, and environmental monitoring Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to strengthen food safety programs Stay current on food safety certifications (HACCP, PCQI) and apply principles accordingly. Skills & Experience
:
Education : Associate’s degree or higher in a science-related field, strongly preferred; relevant experience considered Experience : 3-5+ years of supervisory experience in a food/beverage quality lab, required Knowledge:
Microbiological testing & lab operations,
required;
PCQI & HACCP certification, preferred Environment:
Combination of lab, office, and manufacturing settings Software:
