Position Summary: As a Business Development Manager at PECO Pallet, you will play a pivotal role in our growth and success. This is a high-impact, hunter-style sales role focused on generating leads, qualifying opportunities, and closing new business—primarily with large and medium-sized customers in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), food, and beverage sectors.
You will be responsible for identifying customer pain points, crafting tailored solutions, and managing the entire sales cycle—from lead and opportunity development through pricing and contract negotiation to onboarding. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, relentless pursuit of new opportunities, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with decision-makers.
Essential Functions: Proactively source and develop new leads through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, and networking. Qualify and prioritize opportunities based on customer needs and potential value. Create compelling solutions that address customer pain points. Navigate complex sales processes including pricing strategy and contract management. Cross-functional collaboration with pricing, marketing, service, IT, operations and transportation. Drive onboarding and ensure a smooth transition to customer implementation and service teams. Utilize CRM tools, such as Microsoft Dynamics, to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and customer interactions Consistently contribute to revenue growth and market expansion.
Key Competencies for Success: Proven track record of hunting and closing new business. Experience selling to CPG, food and beverage sectors. Strong consultative selling skills and ability to uncover customer pain points. Effective selling & negotiation skills. Effective customer relationship management skills. Effective written & verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Highly organized and self-motivated. Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
Qualifications: 2+ years in sales, ideally in supply chain, logistics, or packaging Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Familiarity with CPG, food, and beverage industries
Environment/Physical
Demands:
Office and/or home office environment, with travel to customer sites. Long periods of sitting Long periods of working on a computer Occasional standing, walking and bending
Travel:
Up to 50% based on business needs
