A large national company is seeking a Lead HR Business Partner to support over 900 teammates across 109 retail locations in Southern California. This individual contributor role partners with 13 Area Managers and drives HR strategy in a high-volume, multi-unit environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a tactical HR role, traveling up to 50% to store locations while fostering an inclusive and compliant workplace culture.

Lead HR Business Partner Responsibilities - Partner closely with store leaders to deliver proactive HR support aligned with business goals and teammate experience. - Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and workforce planning. - Champion a culture of inclusion, respect, and engagement across a diverse and high-volume retail workforce. - Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement initiatives in talent development, compensation, benefits, and DEI. - Analyze HR data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business impact. - Serve as a subject matter expert on regional employment practices and ensure compliance with California labor laws and company policies. - Oversee headcount management and partner with recruitment teams to ensure timely, effective staffing across 109 store locations. - Support change management efforts and lead initiatives to drive teammate engagement and retention. - Act as HR liaison for regional and divisional meetings, supporting over 900 teammates and partnering with 13 Area Managers.

Job Requirements:

Lead HRBP Requirements:

- 6-8+ years of human resources experience

- Bachelors degree required, masters is a plus

- Experience supporting multi-site, high-volume retail or operations environments.

- Willingness to travel regionally up to 50% to store locations and company events.

- Bilingual in Spanish preferred to support a diverse employee population.

- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is a plus.

- Experience with union environments and labor relations preferred.
