Store Event Coordinator
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids' birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they're looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to uphold our Brand Promises.
Event Coordination
Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children's birthday parties and craft classes or events. Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, creating an environment of fun and creativity. Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities. Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards. Communicate event details with clients and store team members. Complete administrative tasks like answering emails, making phone calls, and handling paperwork. Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs. Create backup or emergency plans as needed. Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events. Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after events. Customer Experience
Assist customers in shopping, locating products, and providing solutions. Provide a quick and friendly checkout experience. Engage customers on the benefits of Rewards programs and Private Label Credit Cards, and assist with enrollment. Educate customers about Voice of Customer (VOC) surveys. Support Omni-channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes. Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance tasks. Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned. Support shrink and safety programs. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies to ensure compliance. Interact respectfully with others; remain positive and serve as a role model. Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production. Participate in daily store cleanliness activities, including sweeping, vacuuming, and restroom maintenance. Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Energetic and enthusiastic personality. Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests and co-workers. Excellent people skills. Experience working with children and children's events. Good communication skills (written, verbal, nonverbal) and listening skills. Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills. Retail and/or customer service experience required. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand for long periods. Mobility throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching; lifting heavy boxes and using ladders. Work in a climate-controlled environment; some outdoor work and work in non-climate-controlled stock rooms. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
