Store Event Coordinator Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids' birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they're looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises. Event Coordination

Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children's birthday parties and craft classes or other events. Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, creating an environment of fun and creativity. Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities. Implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards. Communicate event details with clients and store team members. Complete administrative tasks like responding to emails, making calls, and paperwork. Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs. Create backup or emergency plans as needed. Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean after events. Customer Experience

Assist customers in shopping, locating products, and providing solutions. Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience. Engage customers on Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, and assist with enrollment. Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) surveys. Support Omni channel processes including BOPIS and SFS. Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes. Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance tasks. Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned. Support shrink and safety initiatives. Follow SOPs and company policies to ensure legal compliance and standards. Interact respectfully and positively with all team members and customers, promoting the company's values. Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production. Participate in daily store cleanliness activities. Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Energetic and enthusiastic personality. Ability to handle stress and interact effectively with guests and coworkers. Excellent people skills. Experience working with children and children's events. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, nonverbal) and listening skills. Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills. Retail and/or customer service experience required. Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods. Mobility throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lifting heavy boxes and using ladders or similar equipment. Work Environment

Public retail setting with climate-controlled areas; some outdoor work and non-climate-controlled stock rooms. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
