Starting compensation will be commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated ability to meet the responsibilities of the position. Who we are and what we do: The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a qualified person for the position of General Counsel. This position will report to the Director. The General Counsel performs administrative legal work across all areas of the AOC and communicates effectively and respectfully. He or she is well-versed and confident in providing sound legal advice that furthers the mission of the AOC. The ideal candidate will have experience in both civil and criminal law. Minimum Qualifications: - Must be a licensed Tennessee attorney in good standing. - A minimum of 10 years of experience as a licensed practicing attorney, including trial litigation and/or appellate practice experience. - Comprehensive knowledge of the Tennessee court system and court structure. - Management experience is essential.
