4 months OPEN TO LOCAL AND NON-LOCAL CANDIDATES BUT LOCAL WITHIN SERVICE TERRITORY IS PREFERRED. TOP THINGS LOOKING FOR: Strong instructional design skills, open to steady feedback, and ability to pivot between tasks.

Role: Contract Instructional Designer Responsibilities • Create, revise, and enhance instructor-led training programs for apprenticeship and refresher courses. • Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training. • Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media. • Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed. • Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content. • Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment. • Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates. • Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience. • Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train the trainer. • Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. • Receive and incorporate feedback. • Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. • Proactively communicate issues and risks. Required Skills • 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led training. • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design and methodologies. • Proven experience performing task analysis. • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams. • Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines, as needed. Desired Skills • Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Storyline.

Location: • Bay Area residency is preferred but not required. • Occasional onsite or in-person presence may be needed depending on project needs.
