Position Overview
A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to serve as Senior Litigation Counsel for their North American operations. This strategic role requires managing complex legal matters while maintaining close coordination with international headquarters and subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will possess deep litigation expertise and demonstrate cultural alignment with our collaborative, results-driven environment. Mandarin Chinese fluency is required.

Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited institution Active admission to New Jersey, New York, or California State Bar (good standing required) Minimum 10 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for in-house corporate roles, with recent experience in the manufacturing industry Fluent Mandarin Chinese speaking, reading, and writing capabilities (mandatory) Demonstrated success managing complex, high-stakes litigation matters Substantial experience in product liability, commercial litigation, and regulatory investigations Mandatory work experience with federal agencies (CPSC, FTC, ITC) and enforcement procedures preferred Trade law, customs, or intellectual property litigation background valued Ability to work effectively in an international business environment, under different time zones
Core Responsibilities Legal Strategy & Case Management: Direct all aspects of civil litigation across state and federal jurisdictions, from case inception through resolution Craft comprehensive litigation strategies that balance risk mitigation with business objectives Handle complex discovery processes, motion practice, and trial preparation Represent the organization in court proceedings, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution
Global Legal Coordination: Collaborate extensively with international legal teams to ensure a unified approach to cross-border matters Facilitate communication between North American operations and the overseas parent company Provide guidance on U.S. legal developments affecting worldwide business operations Support global risk assessment and compliance initiatives Regulatory Affairs & Compliance: Lead responses to government agency inquiries and enforcement actions Coordinate with regulatory bodies on product safety, consumer protection, and trade matters Partner with cross-functional teams on compliance programs and risk prevention strategies Manage crisis response protocols for product-related issues Legal Operations: Supervise external legal counsel relationships, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality representation Provide mentorship and guidance to legal department personnel Establish and maintain performance metrics for legal service delivery Drive process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives Strategic Advisory: Monitor the evolving legal landscape affecting the manufacturing sector Deliver actionable legal insights to executive leadership Participate in strategic business planning and risk assessment Develop preventive legal strategies to minimize future litigation exposure
