PCU RN Job Details - Albany, GA Location: Albany, Georgia 31701 Assignment Length: 20 weeks (September 8, 2025 - January 26, 2026) Healthcare Setting: Acute Care - Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Cardiac Stepdown) Shift: 12-hour days (6:45am - 6:45pm), 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $1740-$1860 Floating: May float to ICU (stepdown patients only unless ICU experience) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact state Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU nursing experience in an acute care hospital BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification preferred Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips Skilled in titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin) Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen (no full ventilators) Ability to work holidays and flexible scheduling Compliance with dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair color, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (per driver's license) PCU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care in a 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit Monitor and manage patients post-cardiovascular surgery and procedures (CABG, stents, pacemakers, ablations, CHF, thoracotomy, EVAR, AAA repairs) Administer and titrate cardiac medications and drips as ordered Interpret and monitor telemetry strips for cardiac patients Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (nurse aides, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, ancillary staff) Participate in rapid patient turnover, admissions, and discharges Float to ICU as needed (stepdown patients only unless ICU experience) Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety protocols Discover the benefits of travel nursing jobs in Albany, GA-a city of 80,000 near Atlanta and the Florida coast.
