SUMMARY : The Food & Beverage Manager is a key leader in our Forbes 4-Star rated restaurant, responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience that reflects the highest standards of service, cuisine, and hospitality. This role oversees daily front-of-house operations, directs and inspires a skilled service team, and curates an exceptional beverage program that complements our award-winning culinary offerings. The ideal candidate will bring refined leadership skills, a passion for food and wine, and the ability to anticipate guest needs with elegance and precision. A Level One Sommelier Certificate is required, along with the expertise to develop innovative wine and cocktail offerings, train staff in service excellence, and ensure every detail aligns with our luxury brand standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead all front-of-house operations to ensure seamless, Forbes 4-Star service in every guest interaction. Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire dining room staff, fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and hospitality. Oversee the property's beverage program, including curation of the wine list, cocktail menu, and non-alcoholic offerings to complement the restaurant's culinary vision. Conduct regular beverage and service training to enhance staff knowledge, salesmanship, and consistency in execution. Maintain vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and manage beverage inventory, ensuring quality, cost control, and proper storage. Lead daily pre-shift meetings to communicate menu changes, beverage features, VIP reservations, and service priorities. Coordinate server sections, monitor service flow, and ensure proper dining room setup in accordance with brand standards. Greet and engage guests warmly, offering personalized recommendations and tableside wine service when appropriate. Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and timeliness of service; expedite as needed. Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the dining room and beverage areas. Oversee pool and room service operations as needed, ensuring consistency in service standards across all outlets. Manage scheduling, labor costs, and workflow to maximize efficiency and profitability. Maintain accurate records, reports, and operational documentation as required. Perform other duties as assigned by senior management to support the restaurant's success. Assist with training, supervising, motivating, and developing restaurant staff; manage schedules and workflow. Control costs. Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance. Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions. Ensures staff completes opening/closing side work. Resolves guest issues. Liaison between staff, kitchen & guests. Ensure proper pool & room service. Meet and exceed guest expectations. QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years' experience in restaurant management Familiar with Open Table & Micros Strong organizational skills; able to multitask Commitment to excellence and high standards. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook. Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US. Must meet legal age requirements for the position. EDUCATION

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
The work environment at Bernardus Lodge ranges from winter time lows of 20 degrees to summer time highs to 100+ degrees. While performing these duties the employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions.
