A growing Wholesale/Distribution organization near Moonachie, NJ, is looking for a
HR Generalist
to join their team, providing critical support to our workforce of over 300 employees across multiple states. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our HR operations run smoothly, from payroll and benefits to employee relations and recruiting.
Responsibilities:
Payroll & HRIS: Process weekly payroll for our office and store employees using Workday. You will manage timecard approvals, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy within our HRIS.
Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the entire hiring lifecycle, including posting jobs, screening candidates, and conducting interviews. You'll handle all onboarding tasks, from documentation like I-9s to conducting new hire orientations.
Benefits Administration: Administer health insurance and workers' compensation claims, and assist with new hire benefits onboarding and annual open enrollment.
Employee Relations & Compliance: Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, mediate minor conflicts, and handle unemployment claims and hearings. You'll ensure our operations comply with all federal and state laws, including FLSA, FMLA, and OSHA.
Administrative & Reporting: Maintain employee records, analyze turnover trends from exit interviews, and generate essential reports on headcount and payroll costs. You'll also assist with updating employee handbooks and policies. Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field.
Experience in a generalist role within a wholesale or distribution environment is a plus.
Knowledge of multi-state compliance, especially in NY and NJ.
Proficiency with HRIS systems, particularly Workday, and a strong command of Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Bilingual skills (Spanish, Arabic, or Korean) are a plus.
SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
Compensation:
$50,000-$80,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
