Fiscal Technician

This position provides fiscal support for Psychology faculty as well as graduate students in all administrative aspects of department and research funding. This includes maintaining compliance with university, state, department and sponsors' procedures and regulations. Responsibilities include: Responsible for all departmental and grant related purchasing activity via PCard or P.O, and reconciling all such activity; Processes JV's and revenue transactions as required; Responsible for the processing of all departmental and grant related fiscal transactions of petty cash and participant payments via PCard; Makes all travel arrangements for faculty, students, prospective faculty and prospective students as required; Processes travel pre-approvals and reimbursements; Provides training of faculty and graduate students on fiscal transactions; Serves as the point person for all activities in conjunction student scholarships; this includes evaluation committee set up, call for applications, application tracking and organization for review, and processing and tracking of funding; and Helps coordinates scholarships; we provide a variety of student scholarships at all levels including undergraduate, masters and Phd. Required Qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalent; Previous fiscal experience; Demonstrated experience collaborating as part of a team; Proven track record of prioritizing simultaneous, competing priorities independently; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent organizational skills; Excellent interpersonal skills and team player; Ability to understand budgets and fiscal transactions; Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated; and Ability to multi-task. Preferred Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in related field; Previous experience with travel reservations; Previous experience with purchasing; Previous experience with reconciliations; Solid numeric abilities; Knowledge of reconciliation processes; Knowledge of purchasing; and Knowledge of Travel.
