Position Description The Children's Advocacy and Protection Center (CAPC) Medical Director is a professional position that involves conducting comprehensive medical examinations of children, providing clinical evaluations, and offering consultation services. This position is responsible for providing direct service to clients referred for child medical examinations. In addition, the duties of a CAPC Medical Director include community outreach, participation in Peer Review sessions, and attending Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE INFORMATION: Salary is negotiable, dependent on education and experience. Schedule is negotiable. Typical schedule works 20 hours per week, with on-call availability as needed. There are no benefits associated with this position. Responsibilities

Conduct child medical examinations and provide completed reports, including documentation for client files. Provide referring agencies with appropriate medical documentation of the examination Provide medical consultations on referrals from Law Enforcement, Department of Social Services, or other medical providers. Participate in all team case reviews, offering medical findings and opinions on the results of each child's medical exam. Assist in establishing medical policy and protocols in accordance with CAPC goals and objectives Provide training in the topic of child abuse to MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) members, local medical providers, and other child abuse professionals. Attend Court Proceedings when needed for the purpose of providing expert witness testimony regarding the performed child medical exams. Attend ongoing education in child abuse and neglect, to include conferences, seminars, consultation with other child abuse experts, literature review, and case/peer review. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings. Collaborate with the Child and Family Advocate to input accurate client data into the agency's database. Perform additional duties as required. Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or M.D./D.O. (specialized in Pediatrics, Family Practice, or Emergency Medicine) Licensed in North Carolina Additional Requirements

Rostered with the North Carolina CME Program, or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe Certified to obtain pediatric S.A.N.E., or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe Medical knowledge of child abuse issues Ability to work with multi-agency partners Knowledge of the criminal justice system to testify in court Ability to provide medical consultation to non-medical personnel who work in child abuse investigations Work well with children and family members Knowledge and skill in operating colposcope and taking photographs of injuries Maintain medical license Must be an independent worker Excellent verbal and written communication skills Commitment to the Mission and Vision of the Children's Advocacy and Protection Center.
