What This Job Involves
The Facilities Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all facility equipment and systems. This role involves leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring optimal equipment performance, managing preventive maintenance programs, and maintaining safe, efficient facility operations while supporting business continuity. Your day-to-day tasks will include: Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians while scheduling work assignments and managing workload distribution Oversee maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems across all facilities Manage preventive maintenance programs and coordinate emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety training, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and building codes Develop and manage maintenance budgets while coordinating with vendors and contractors for specialized services Respond to and resolve facility-related issues and tenant requests in a timely manner Monitor equipment performance, recommend upgrades or replacements, and implement continuous improvement initiatives Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, costs, equipment status, and maintain comprehensive documentation Manage inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment while supporting energy management and sustainability initiatives Physical Requirements
Perform labor and general maintenance activities. Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs., carry and adjust heavy objects. The sensory demands include exposure to the smells and sounds characteristic of an industrial work environment. The ability to safely climb ladders, work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces. Desired Experience And Technical Skills
Required:
U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to contract requirements. High school diploma or equivalent; 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience with commercial building systems and equipment Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Proficiency with maintenance management software (CMMS) and building automation systems (BAS) Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes Proven leadership and team management abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels and maintain customer service orientation Availability for on-call emergency response Preferred:
Associate degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field Professional certifications (FMP, CFM, or equivalent) Experience with energy management systems and project management principles Experience in industrial facilities Location: On-site
