In this role, you'll conduct impactful research, analyze data, and contribute to scholarly publications. You'll also prepare and present research findings, develop grant proposals, and mentor student researchers. Minimum Required Qualifications Education:
Appropriate PhD in related field Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and technical equipment; ability to effectively use a computer and applicable software to create data bases, perform statistical analysis; presentation and analytical skills. The well qualified candidate will also possess a PhD in a biological sciences field, or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). Laboratory research in microbiology, virology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or other related biomedical fields is a plus, as is experience with microbiome data analysis. Under general supervision, conducts research into their field of expertise. Utilizes knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and expertise to complete research projects in their field of expertise. Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite. Analyzes research data and summarizes results. Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications.
Presentations:
Prepares presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups. Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors. Develops and prepares text and budgetary information for grant proposals. Reviews draft proposals for accuracy and content.
Mentoring:
Serves as a mentor to graduate and undergraduate student researchers.
Teaching Assistance:
Provide teaching assistance for a course as a visiting/guest lecturer.
