Acute Care - Cardiac Stepdown (7 WEST) Contract Duration:
13 weeks (Start: 8/11/2025 - End: 11/10/2025) Shift:
12-hour days, Weekend Day Shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, Friday-Sunday) Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay:
$1930 - $2070 Unit Details:
32 beds (12 Stepdown, 20 Floor); nurse-to-patient ratio 1:3 (Stepdown), 1:4-6 (Floor) Charting System:
EPIC Dress Code:
Royal Blue scrubs Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license (or eligibility for West Virginia RN licensure) BLS certification required At least 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or acute care nursing job Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips (in collaboration with monitor techs) COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered with documentation) Valid, unexpired driver's license (must reside 50+ miles from facility) Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and MedSurg patients, including those with chest pain, COPD, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, and hospice needs Monitor and titrate cardiac drips as required in the stepdown unit Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including charge nurses, house supervisors, and respiratory therapists Accurately read and interpret telemetry strips with monitor tech support Float to other acute care floors or stepdown units as needed Document patient care using the EPIC electronic health record system Comply with hospital policies, dress code, and infection control protocols
