Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare jobs) Setting:
Cardiac Stepdown (IMU) - Clinical Observation Unit Assignment Length:
13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks) Start Dates:
8/25/2025 or 9/8/2025 Shift:
12-hour night shifts (assignments end on Saturday) Hours per Week:
36 Patient Ratio:
4:1 Floating:
Required to other units as needed Weekend Requirement:
2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs Orientation:
Every other Monday Estimated Weekly Salary:
$1780 - $1910 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, IMU, or related specialty (required) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (required at time of application) BLS and ACLS certifications (required) NIH Stroke Scale certification (required) Previous travel nursing experience (required) Cerner EMR experience preferred All requested time off must be submitted with application Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible Travel RN Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown/IMU unit Monitor, assess, and document patient progress and vital signs Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new hires, to support a positive learning environment Float to other clinical units as required by hospital needs Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner EMR system Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training sessions
