Software Engineer
to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This role is ONSITE in Colorado Springs, CO.
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. This program is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
This position is for a software engineer who will excel in an environment that requires maintaining and developing applications that rely heavily on efficient algorithm development and linear algebra. The candidate will primarily develop software using Java, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, work independently or with a small team, and remain adaptable in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO: Provide in-depth analysis and technical support for an extensive, distributed system written in Java Handle complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a substantial codebase Follow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the code Assist with design, benchmarking, debugging, and documentation Collaborate with other system support groups to resolve issues, set standards, and improve overall system efficiency Design, code, test, and implement tools for automation Will work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment Knowledge of software practices and coding standards Will have strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend and develop solutions Will work as part of an Agile team Will have knowledge of server-side development and message passing Will develop enterprise applications
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
Must have Java and Java Spring experience Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes Use of common software development and management tools such as:
Git Nexus JIRA Confluence Maven or Gradle Eclipse
Understanding standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams Extensive experience in a Linux environment, preferably with:
Red Hat CentOS Oracle Linux
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
A current and active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) is highly desired Command and control system application development Previous experience with message translation software Automated testing and pipeline development experience Experience with software integration testing, including developing automated test scripts Experience with Risk Management Framework, STIG, and Fortify mitigation Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying containers Experience setting up container environments
PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $105,000 - $115,000
