Senior Accountant
About the role:
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking an experienced Analyst/Accountant to join their team in California. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting and analytical tasks, especially in the public works sector. This position requires someone who can work independently and efficiently handle multiple assignments from various team members.
Responsibilities
Utilize government, municipal, and public works experience to effectively manage tasks. Setup contracts in financial software (Tyler Munis) and process monthly invoices. Track contract expenditures and manage various research projects, including staffing levels, rates, and program initiatives of other agencies. Monitor budget by tracking revenue against projections and expenditures against budget line items. Prepare and manage requests for proposals. Work with vendors to resolve invoice issues. Ideal candidates will have about 6-8 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in municipal government and a utility sector background being advantageous but not essential. Proficiency in Tyler Munis is highly preferred, but candidates who can quickly adapt to this software will also be considered. The role requires an individual who can operate independently while reporting primarily to the Management Analyst and receiving daily tasks from the Director of Public Works and the Utility Division Manager.
Qualifications
Approximately 6-8 years of experience in a similar role. Experience with Tyler Munis is highly preferred. Strong familiarity with municipal government operations. Independent work capability with minimal supervision. Ability to handle tasks from multiple supervisors. Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Competitive salary ranging from $35 to $44 per hour.
