Duties:
Technical lead for NDS (Network Design Specification) requirements, collaborating with Ciena account team and Customer planning primes. Work with internal teams to understand product documentation needs and determine which Customer Initiatives require architecture capture. Develop high-quality documentation including high-level architecture, detailed and low-level design, Golden Config, API interfaces, QoS support, services provisioning, routing configuration, telemetry, and maintenance actions. Create user interface text, online help, developer guides, and tutorials. Analyze content for reuse and manage document storage and exchange via tools like Confluence, Teams, JIRA. Collaborate with R&D and SE&I teams to validate NDS aspects before deployment. May work remotely within the United States; domestic and international travel required. The Must Haves:
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in relevant roles. Specific experience required in IP routing (OSPF, BGP, ISIS, MPLS VPNs), carrier and enterprise network solutions, network deployment on platforms like Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, or Adva, MEF-based Carrier Ethernet, packet networking technologies (IP/MPLS, MPLS-TE, MPLS-TP, BGP, Q-in-Q, 1588v2, SynchE, TDM Pseudowires), optical transport (OTN, SONET/SDH, PON/FTTH), VoIP, IPTV, mobile backhaul, 2G/3G/4G/5G, DCI, data center, metro networks, video/MSO, UNIX/Linux and Windows sysadmin, scripting (Python, REST, TCL, Expect, Bash, Perl, JavaScript), and security concepts.
