Overview

TEKsystems is currently seeking an IP Network Engineer with strong Nokia experience for a 100% Remote 1 year + contract with opportunity for extension and permanent conversion. 10+ years of relevant enterprise Network Engineering experience required with Design, MOP (Method of Procedure) creation, ISIS, MPLS, BGP and OSPF. Responsibilities

Engineer II, IP Engineering position is expected to provide engineering design and implementation services necessary to support the company\'s IP/MPLS core network, carrier Ethernet transport systems, cellular data core systems, and/or video transmission services. Provide technical leadership and escalation support for various operations and engineering groups as well as technical training and mentorship to team members. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the reliable operation and growth of a converged and scalable carrier network. Plan, design, implement, and document new network implementations. Test new technologies and service architectures in lab environments. Complete Engineering Estimates and Installation Packages as needed. Provide escalation and troubleshooting support for operations teams. Mentor more junior staff to support the growth of technical knowledge and experience. Qualifications

10+ years of relevant enterprise Network Engineering experience with design, MOP creation, ISIS, MPLS, BGP and OSPF. Minimum four years in a Carrier Ethernet or large ISP environment. Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications or related field is required. Master\'s degree may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. Certifications: Industry specific certifications relevant to the discipline are highly valued. Advanced experience with the configuration of Nokia, Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper routers and switches. Strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.). Strong understanding of RSVP, LDP, and PIM; data center network design; and common transport technologies (Ethernet, SONET, TDM, Fiber, Microwave, Satellite, Wi-Fi, cellular, etc.). Extensive experience with layer-2 Ethernet technologies (VLANs, STP, LACP, MC-LAG, etc.). Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; self-directed and motivated; able to work collaboratively toward goals. Ability to identify, report, and resolve technical problems per established guidelines. Pay, Benefits & Work Arrangement

Pay range: $50.00 - $60.00/hr. This is a fully remote position. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits; benefits may vary by job classification and length of employment.
