KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES – SENIOR STORM WATER/DRAINAGE ENGINEER: • Knowledge of storm water/drainage design and permitting for various types of infrastructure projects. • Knowledge of project management, including development and management of scopes, schedules, and budgets. • Experience understanding storm water hydraulics, construction, and operations. • Proficient in the use of storm water/drainage hydraulic modeling software such as GEOPAK Drainage, ICPR, HEC-RAS, XPSWMM, ASAD, etc. • Strong leadership qualities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Engineering: • Serve as Engineer of Record where needed. • Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications. • Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills. • Prepare reports and correspondence. • Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to junior-level project team members. • Provide design and post-design services during construction. Contract Documents: • Develop plans, specifications, and reports in accordance with engineering standards and client requirements. • Lead or participate in the design process to deliver successful projects, including: — Field investigations or inspections — Detailed design work and plans preparation — Detailed checks of design computations and plans done by others — Coordination of specific design elements Project Management: • Plan, schedule, and coordinate technical and administrative activities to meet client requirements. Business Development: • Assist with technical write-ups or other content for proposals. • Assist with concept development for project approaches in proposals. • Participate in project development or business development activities with clients. EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of 12 years of storm water/drainage engineering experience. • Experience with H&H analysis. • Familiarity with planning tools like ICPR, CASCADE, XPSWMM, StormCAD, Water Resources. EDUCATION: • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. • Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or EI passed with the ability to take and pass the PE exam within 6 months of employment. Out-of-state PEs are acceptable; Florida PE is required within 3 months of employment.
