This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Milford Proving Grounds at least three times per week, or as dictated by the business. The Role: The Software Design Release Engineer is a leadership position involved in the development and launch of embedded controller products. Responsibilities include creating and leading product plans, ensuring on-time delivery of embedded controllers or sub-components, and providing technical leadership. The role combines technical engineering skills with leadership, offering opportunities to influence others. What You'll Do: Contribute to a culture of innovation, managing programs and collaborating across teams. Develop and implement product development and release plans aligned with engineering standards for timely, high-quality delivery. Manage part number proliferation for embedded controllers, including software and calibration parts. Track, report, and escalate issues, and drive efforts to mitigate risks. Lead product issue investigations, process improvements, and quality initiatives. Participate in standard meetings and agile ceremonies. Provide technical leadership and direction for product issues. Mentor and train team members in relevant areas. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field. At least 5 years of experience in embedded controls development or related areas. Strong skills in areas such as hardware design, software development, calibration, testing, and validation. Proven ability in initiative, problem-solving, project management, collaboration, and leadership. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in engineering or computer science. Over 5 years of automotive experience. Knowledge of AUTOSAR, diagnostic parameters, Agile development, and cross-functional team leadership. Experience with Generative AI, design release, or calibration. This job does not include relocation benefits; costs are the responsibility of the candidate. About GM:
