Chief/Lead Systems Architect

at Mercury Systems, you will work closely with Program Management and Engineering management to drive the successful planning and day to day execution of projects for mission critical avionics solutions for our Aerospace & Defense customers. You will lead highly technical teams composed of systems, hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical engineers to develop next-generation mission systems and systems of systems inclusive of Mission Computers, Helmet Mounted Displays, Augmented Reality Systems, and other advanced IRAD and CRAD activities. the Mission Computing and Avionics organization at Mercury! We design, develop, and produce the next generation of mission computing products ranging from distributed networked processing nodes to pilot display systems. We are building in the highest level of flight-safety assurance to our Aerospace & Defense processing applications. We are an agile team focused on delivering innovative, high-quality products to our customers on time and on budget. Locations: Torrance CA, Cypress CA or Phoenix AZ Duties & Responsibilities: Being the primary technical interface to your customers and supporting them throughout the project lifecycle Driving day to day engineering efforts for your programs to ensure successful engineering execution for meeting program technical requirements and milestones Identifying required resources (e.g., people, equipment, and lab space) and provide resource forecasts for ongoing and future programs Developing accurate program schedules with detailed engineering tasks and hours for proposals and program executions Managing and prioritizing engineering tasks through the utilization of MS Project, JIRA, and Confluence tools Leading lessons learned and risk management efforts for Engineering throughout the product development cycle Supporting engineering design reviews and program reviews by ensuring technical data packages are complete and reviews are carried out per process and procedures Supporting internal and external audits by ensuring engineering efforts are carried out per process and procedures Ensuring engineering documents are released in accordance to configuration management process Monitor/measure engineering performance, schedule, and spending through implementation and maintenance of engineering metrics Supporting Program Managers in subcontractor management, coordinate with Procurement and vendors on the statement of work, quotations, and purchase orders, and monitor deliveries of materials and services to Engineering Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of systems engineering or embedded software engineering experience or an advanced degree in related field with 6+ years of related experience Avionics, Aerospace & Defense, or Electronics Industry experience required This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense DOD Security Clearance. To be eligible for a security clearance, you must be a citizen of the United States Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Engineering Degree Experience as a technical lead or team leader Experienced in design engineering Experienced with task/issue tracking tools, such as JIRA Business acumen and how it relates to engineering decisions Experienced leading technical teams for product development programs Experienced with SCRUM and Agile methodologies Experienced with MS Project Experience with Green Hills RTOS Experience complying with DO-178 and DO-254 safety standards Experienced with earned value management (EVM) Experienced with documentation and collaboration tools, such as Confluence and SharePoint Active Secret Clearance #LI-PJD Additional Information

Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $142,000 - $242,000 for a Technical Senior Principal / Senior Manager at Torrance CA USA. Mercury considers a variety of factors to determine individual base salary offers to candidates, including: * the role and related responsibilities; * prior work experience; * education, training, skills and certifications; * internal equity with others employed by Mercury in similar roles; * geographic location; and * alignment with market data.
