Position Summary

• The AP Specialist is responsible for reconciling vendor invoices to vendor statements within required timeframes.
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop payments or purchase order amendments.
• Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances, preparing checks.
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries consistent with Company accounting procedures.
• Facilitate expeditious payment cycles by processing incoming e-mail, forwarding to the appropriate approvers and providing follow up for all invoices due
• Reconcile, resolve discrepancies, and approve vendor invoices against vendor statements within payment terms
• Proper coding to location and department for 14 locations
• Maintain AP schedules by verifying and posting account transactions
• Validate vendor account tax forms to ensure compliance with federal and state laws
• Communicate with management on expense detail
• Protect organizations value by keeping all information confidential
• Perform all other duties as requested by Management

Qualifications

• Experience processing high-volume invoicing
• 2-5 years of experience in accounts payable.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Thrive in a collaborative, team player environment
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
• Dealership knowledge preferred
