About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the role of Dean for our Division of Counseling and Psychology. This pivotal position requires a passionate, student-centered educator with strong administrative skills to guide and support divisional directors and faculty. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering professional development, particularly in our practitioner-scholar model. Additionally, you will enhance our clinical skills and techniques through innovative, technology-rich instruction.
Key responsibilities include: overseeing the hiring, evaluation, and assessment of faculty; collaborating with faculty on curriculum refinement; and actively supporting student engagement and advising.
The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the division's programs and broader higher education landscape. You will play a critical role in articulating our university's commitment to preparing the next generation of the behavioral health workforce.
This role involves managing a diverse array of academic programs, including undergraduate psychology, graduate programs in clinical mental health counseling, and an APA-accredited doctoral program in counseling and school psychology. You will also hold a full-time administrative capacity alongside an annual teaching load, guiding doctoral students through their scholarly projects.
Your leadership will ensure that our division effectively utilizes resources and remains compliant with relevant policies and practices.
