Mantell Associates is partnered with a fully integrated, global biologics CDMO, who is seeking a high-impact Senior Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth and client engagement across the East Coast USA.

This role combines seasoned commercial acumen with deep industry expertise to expand key accounts and shape regional business strategy.

Senior Director Business Development - Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow biologics service offerings across the East Coast
• Lead client acquisition and relationship management with biotech, pharma, and advanced therapy organizations
• Oversee the end-to-end sales cycle: prospecting, proposal development, negotiation, contract closing, and post-deal implementation
• Mentor and coach junior BD team members—setting goals, providing guidance, and ensuring alignment with global commercial strategy
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform value propositions and go-to-market positioning
• Represent the company at industry conferences, client meetings, and partnering forums to elevate brand visibility and pipeline generation

Senior Director Business Development - Requirements:

• 8+ years of business development or sales leadership experience within a biologics CDMO or service-based biopharma environment
• Proven record in closing high-value, biologics/CDMO contracts and expanding regional footprint - especially in East Coast biotech markets
• Deep industry network and understanding of biologics platforms, CDMO value chains, and customer expectations
• Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and team leadership abilities - capable of coaching and scaling a regional BD team
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, adept at navigating complex cross-functional environments
• Based on the East Coast USA, with flexibility to travel regionally as needed
