• Monitor and validate tax data quality and performance of securities tax results within internal systems while ensuring alignment with general ledger records
• Participate in cross-functional operational meetings to troubleshoot system issues, support data governance, and track changes across the investment data environment
• Test system upgrades and enhancements to ensure accurate tax processing and continued functionality of investment tax software
• Analyze and maintain accurate tax basis accounting for various investment types, ensuring proper application of tax rules in complex or exception scenarios
• Support reviews of new investment transactions including partnerships, derivatives, and structured products to determine appropriate tax treatment and operational processes
• Identify and drive process improvements, enhance automation, and support digital transformation efforts using technology to increase efficiency and accuracy in tax operations

Boston, MA - Hybrid
Comp: $110K-$147,500 + 20% bonus
Responsibilities

• Monitor and validate tax data quality and performance of securities tax results within internal systems while ensuring alignment with general ledger records
• Participate in cross-functional operational meetings to troubleshoot system issues, support data governance, and track changes across the investment data environment
• Test system upgrades and enhancements to ensure accurate tax processing and continued functionality of investment tax software

• Support reviews of new investment transactions including partnerships, derivatives, and structured products to determine appropriate tax treatment and operational processes

Qualifications

• 8+ years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting or large financial services environments
• Strong technical knowledge of tax codes, regulations, and GAAP accounting under ASC 740; familiarity with Statutory Accounting Principles is a plus
• Understanding of tax treatments for a wide range of investment types including securities, partnerships, LLCs, real estate, and derivatives
• Comfortable working in data-intensive environments, including investment systems platforms and data interfaces between ERP and tax systems
• Experience with large, multidisciplinary projects such as ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, or finance transformations
• Proficient in Excel with strong organizational skills for managing workpapers, integrating system outputs, and analyzing results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment
