Job Description

Staff4Me is seeking a highly qualified Director of Distribution Engineering to lead our distribution engineering team. This role is crucial in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of efficient distribution systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet industry standards and are completed on time and within budget while also mentoring and guiding engineering staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the distribution engineering team, setting goals and driving performance to meet operational and strategic objectives
• Oversee the design and implementation of distribution systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols
• Manage large-scale distribution projects from concept through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Collaborate with other departments, including operations, project management, and procurement, to ensure seamless execution of distribution projects
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and processes to enhance distribution efficiency and reliability
• Review engineering designs and plans, providing guidance and ensuring quality and accuracy in all deliverables
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in distribution engineering
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and engineering consultants

Requirements
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• In-depth knowledge of distribution system design, including power flow analysis and protection schemes
• Proven track record of successful project management and engineering leadership
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a strong advantage
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
• Experience with engineering software tools and technologies related to distribution systems
