Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Hospitality Supervisor based in our Washington D.C. office.

  • We are seeking to hire a legal professional to cover the hours of 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Eastern Time).
A primary function of the Hospitality Supervisor is to oversee the daily operations of the hospitality department. Key areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to hospitality, catering and event planning. The position handles multiple projects, often in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, requiring prioritization and flexibility. Effective collaboration with firm personnel across all levels is a critical component of this role, ensuring seamless operations and service excellence. This full-time position works alongside and reports directly to the Office Administrator.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for ensuring all hospitality operations are ran efficiently by directing, controlling, and handling quality control of assigned tasks to ensure compliance of the Firm’s mission, goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels for supplies.
  • Monitor budgets, costs and resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the workplace experience and overall service quality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Oversee and support meeting/event setups and barista services.
  • Train and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions Of Job
  • Collaborate with Reception and Office Services team on client meeting and special events setups.
  • Coordinate repairs, service, and maintenance of miscellaneous equipment.
  • Coordinate miscellaneous housekeeping duties with the building’s facilities staff.
  • Ensure quality standards, cleanliness and safety compliance.
  • Respond to all requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This is a supervisory role reporting directly to the Washington, D.C. Office Administrator.
Qualifications And Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of hospitality experience in a large office environment, preferably in the legal industry.
  • Excellent proofreading and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, willingness to learn, initiative and versatility.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional vocational training in any engineering or maintenance trade preferred.
Computer/Software Knowledge
Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs and Adobe.
Work Environment
  • This position is required to work physically in the Washington D.C. office Monday-Friday.
  • Overtime may be required as the job duties demand.
Washington DC: The pay range for this position is: $31.00 - $41.00 per hour. Medical, vision, and dental coverage is available, including coverage for dependents and domestic partners. Please note that the foregoing compensation and benefit information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position as of the time of this posting and is provided pursuant to the District of Columbia Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act of 2023.
