The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Applied Scientist to support the development and implementation of cutting-edge algorithms and models for supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning through human feedback and complex reasoning, with a focus across text, image, and video modalities.
As an Applied Scientist, you will play a critical role in advancing Generative AI (Gen AI) technologies capable of handling Amazon-scale use cases, significantly impacting customer experiences.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and scientists to identify and solve complex problems in Gen AI
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate and improve algorithm and model performance
- Envision the multi-year development trajectory of Gen AI and identify new application opportunities
- Communicate results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations and reports
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications
- PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field, focusing on Gen AI and reinforcement learning
- Experience developing algorithms for supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning via human feedback
- Skills in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Patents or publications in top-tier conferences/journals
