Amazon The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Applied Scientist to support the development and implementation of cutting-edge algorithms and models for supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning through human feedback and complex reasoning, with a focus across text, image, and video modalities. As an Applied Scientist, you will play a critical role in advancing Generative AI (Gen AI) technologies capable of handling Amazon-scale use cases, significantly impacting customer experiences. Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and scientists to identify and solve complex problems in Gen AI Design and execute experiments to evaluate and improve algorithm and model performance Envision the multi-year development trajectory of Gen AI and identify new application opportunities Communicate results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations and reports Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field, focusing on Gen AI and reinforcement learning Experience developing algorithms for supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning via human feedback Skills in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Patents or publications in top-tier conferences/journals Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with applicable laws.
