Job Title: Trial Attorney

Location: Remote - must reside in CO

Schedule: Full-time

Pay Rate: $45-$50/hr.

Employment Type : Contract (3-4 months)

Job Description:

Liberty Mutual is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Trial Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you’ll represent the company and its policyholders in civil litigation involving personal injury and property damage claims of low to mid-level exposure. This is a fully remote position, but candidates must live in Colorado and be licensed to practice in the state.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all stages of litigation, from investigation and discovery through trial preparation, court proceedings, and settlement negotiations
• Develop and implement legal strategies in collaboration with claims representatives and clients
• Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Foster strong working relationships with claims professionals and clients
• Provide occasional training to Legal, Claims, or other internal departments

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the Colorado Bar
• Minimum 2 years of legal practice, with insurance defense experience strongly preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Familiarity with legal technology and remote work tools
• Broad knowledge of insurance law and relevant legal trends
