This position offers the opportunity to engage in patent prosecution work focused on biotechnology, supporting clients within a fast-evolving and innovative sector.

Duties

1. Manage patent prosecution matters in the biotechnology and life sciences space
2. Collaborate with clients to develop and protect intellectual property portfolios
3. Prepare and file patent applications
4. Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
5. Engage in patent office proceedings and respond to office actions
6. Provide strategic advice to clients regarding intellectual property matters
7. Assist with IP litigation and other intellectual property-related services as needed

Requirements

• 1-5 years of experience in patent prosecution, with a focus on life sciences or biotechnology
• Experience handling intellectual property matters in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related fields
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Education

• Advanced degree in life sciences, ideally a Ph.D., required
• JD from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Patent Bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) is required
• Must be willing to take and pass the patent Bar exam within 12 months of employment, if not already registered
