Job Overview
A prominent law firm based in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a skilled and seasoned litigation attorney with a strong background in personal injury and premises liability. This opportunity is ideal for a high-performing trial attorney looking to handle a robust caseload, advocate in court, and operate in a resource-rich, team-oriented environment. Duties
- Manage approximately 150 active matters, including 50+ in active litigation each month
- Oversee cases from intake through final resolution, including jury verdict if necessary
- Serve as lead counsel in depositions, mediations, and courtroom trials
- Prepare pleadings, respond to motions, and develop comprehensive litigation strategies
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, ensuring clarity and support throughout the case
- Litigate to verdict, typically as first chair, in jury trials involving complex liability issues
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil litigation or personal injury law
- Preferred 5-8 years of relevant experience, particularly on the plaintiff side
- Must be actively licensed and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar
- At least 5 jury trials as first chair required; 10+ is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the Louisiana Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence
- Comfortable managing a fast-paced docket and resolving complex legal issues
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications
- Active license with the Louisiana State Bar (required)
- Admission to additional state bars (preferred)
