Lydig Construction is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support all aspects of HR operations and contribute to building an engaged, high-performing workforce. This role provides both administrative and strategic support across HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, training, compliance, and policy implementation. The HR Generalist will work closely with the CFO, HR Manager, and leadership team to ensure HR programs align with company goals and culture.

Responsibilities:

HR Operations & Administration

  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and department goals.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records, HRIS data, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Prepare reports and provide data analysis for HR projects and leadership requests.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage job postings on internal and external platforms and coordinate applicant flow.
  • Conduct initial screenings and coordinate interviews with hiring teams.
  • Prepare offer letters, facilitate background checks, and oversee onboarding schedules.
  • Oversee the complete onboarding process for new full-time hires.
  • Provide support for Field New Hire processes, including E-Verify.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and claims resolution.
  • Conduct benefits orientations and provide guidance on benefit usage.
  • Partner with third-party administrators and Payroll to ensure accuracy of benefit records and payments.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Assist and drive employee recognition programs, retention surveys, and cultural initiatives.
  • Support and evaluate recognition platforms and retention strategies.
  • Support employee satisfaction and Lydig culture through employee programs and initiatives.
  • Promote employee wellness through goal setting, EAP awareness, and support for fitness and mental health initiatives; integrate insights from industry forums to continuously enhance internal programs.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of employee events, including summer parties, PTL weekend, client gatherings, and winter celebrations.
  • Support event logistics, communication, and execution in collaboration with the event planning team.

Compliance & Policy Support

  • Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including tracking changes and updates to relevant regulations.
  • Interpret and communicate Lydigs policies and procedures to ensure consistent application and legal compliance; explain policies to employees as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain required federal and state notices, postings, and documentation; support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Manage compliance reporting, including affirmative action plans, EEO-1, and VETS-4212 reports; ensure timely and accurate submission to regulatory agencies.

Training & Development

  • Enroll employees in LMS programs, track training completions, and maintain certifications.
  • Coordinate group training sessions and support ongoing learning initiatives.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Provide guidance on company policies and HR procedures to employees and managers.
  • Assist in employee relations activities and support initiatives to promote a positive work culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 35 years of progressive HR experience (AEC industry experience is a plus).
  • Solid knowledge of HR principles, benefits, and employment law.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems (ATS, LMS, HRIS).

The salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $75,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

Other Requirements:

  • Current drivers license and an acceptable driving record as defined by Lydigs insurance company and vehicle policy, if applicable for auto allowance
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment checks including a Drug Screen, Criminal Background and possibly Credit check.
