Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1+ year of recent experience in Labor and Delivery, including couplet care and LDRP.
First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Required Skills:
Newborn Care:
Newborn assessment, infant identification, thermoregulation, and assisting with circumcision.
Labor and Delivery:
Assisting with vaginal deliveries and recovering C-sections.
Postpartum Care:
Breastfeeding support, episiotomy/incisional care, and postpartum care for both vaginal and Cesarean section patients.
Antepartum:
Triage of obstetrical patients.
Documentation:
Epic charting system is required.

Required:
BLS, NRP
Preferred:
PALS, STABLE
Additional Details
Scheduling:
The unit offers a night shift (4x12-hour) and is looking for a nurse who can commit to either a 36 or 48-hour work week. Weekend coverage is every other weekend.
Patient Ratio:
Patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:3.
Float Requirements:
The traveler may be required to float to similar units within their scope of practice.
Local Rule:
This is a travel position; candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are not accepted.
License:
A valid New Mexico or Compact RN license is required at the time of submission.
Time Off:
Any requests for pre-approved time off (up to a maximum of 4 days) must be listed at the time of submission.
Scrubs:
Provided by the facility; either purple or navy blue OR scrubs.

We are looking for a skilled Registered Nurse to join our LDRP unit for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will be versatile, capable of caring for laboring patients, managing couplet care, and performing obstetrical triage. The LDRP unit consists of 11 rooms and focuses on couplet care, where most newborns room in with their parents. The RN is also expected to circulate their own Cesarean sections.
