SummaryYou will serve as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist in the Hazardous Property Management Branch, Material Management Division of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.DutiesHelpYou will serve as the Naval District Washington (NDW) Branch Director of HAZMAT operations.You will establish policies, plans and controls to effectively manage and provide supply support.You will be responsible for inventory management, manage the receipt, stow and issue of the material required to support customers and ensure that material is delivered to the customers in a timely manner.You will lead studies and analysis of workflow processes and business cases and development of new projects.You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.RequirementsHelpConditions of employmentMust be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of Supply Management Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating an expert level of understanding for Federal Supply Management principles and techniques, to include knowledge of and skill in applying hazardous materials field concepts, principles, practices and the laws, rules, regulations and policies at the federal, state, local and navy level. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Providing HAZMAT Program support; 2) Identify requirements to apply to conflicting and incomplete guidance to resolve specific conflicts surrounding Hazardous Supplies; 3) Defend and explain the program concepts during regulatory and oversight visits; 4) Enter into negotiations to expand the scope of the hazardous materials minimization Program; and 5) Establish policies, plans, and controls to effectively manage and provide supply support.Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
