American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU night shift position requiring critical care skills and advanced certifications.
Job Details
• Work in a hospital-based Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with mixed medical, surgical, neuro, and CVICU cases,
• Nights: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week with every other weekend rotation,
• Patient population includes primarily medical ICU patients, but may also include surgical and occasional neuro/cardiovascular ICU patients,
• Patient ratios are 1:2-3 depending on acuity,
• Uses EPIC for charting, along with BD Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing,
• Floating may be required to respiratory, surgical, telemetry, progressive care, or emergency departments as needed,
• 18 mixed ICU beds in a 388-bed Level 3 Trauma Center,
Job Requirements
• Active RN license required (compact or state-specific as applicable),
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required,
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required,
• Skills required: cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol, chest tubes, drains, and invasive line monitoring (A-lines, CVP),
• Travel experience strongly preferred,
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include caring for a diverse ICU patient population with an emphasis on medical cases,
• Travelers will not be assigned to CRRT, Impella, balloon pumps, or ECMO patients,
• Night shifts are typically clustered together when possible,
• Floats to other hospital units as part of a helping hands team,
• Professional attire is required; any scrub color is acceptable,
• Must be comfortable working within a Level 3 Trauma Center environment,
