Job Description Summary
We are seeking a warm, organized, and reliable individual to be the first point of contact for families, visitors, and staff at our preschool. The Front Desk Administrative Assistant plays a key role in creating a welcoming environment, handling daily administrative tasks, and supporting the smooth operations of the school.
Duties
Greet parents, children, and visitors with professionalism and warmth Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and parent inquiries Manage student sign-in/sign-out procedures Collect tuition payments, registration fees, and maintain accurate records Assist with enrollment paperwork and parent communications Maintain front office organization, files, and supplies Support teachers and directors with scheduling, event coordination, and general office tasks Ensure compliance with school policies and licensing requirements when handling documents
Requirements
Previous experience in customer service, front desk, or administrative role Strong communication skills (in person, phone, and written) Comfortable using basic computer programs (email, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, etc.) Highly organized and detail-oriented Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor—especially when interacting with children and parents Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment
Nice To Haves
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience working in a preschool, childcare center, or educational environment Knowledge of QuickBooks or basic bookkeeping Familiarity with state childcare licensing procedures Creative problem-solving skills and willingness to jump in where needed
