Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the Comms, Networks and Cyber In-Service Engineering Division of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Division, directly supervising first line supervisors, and coordinating with the Department Deputy for Operations. You will provide oversight and guidance to support technical, programmatic, and administrative operations within the Division. You will provide direction and coordination for the Division on operationally related matters under the guidance of the Division Head. You will work closely with the Division Head on implementing Division strategic and tactical actions. The work involves direct interface with all members of the Division staff and first line supervisors.
Requirements Conditions of employment: Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101. You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. Qualifications NM-04:

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supporting process improvement activities; collecting and analyzing data for use in the management and direction of programs; implementing established policies and procedures. Your experience must reflect skills in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
NM-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading process improvement activities and center-level efforts; establishing metrics for use in the management and direction of programs; analyzing and evaluating proposed changes in policies and procedures. Your experience must reflect skills in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories.
The pay schedule for all Supervisor Positions will be NM-2/3/4/5/6.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
