www.yums.com . Job Summary We’re looking for a Director of Product Development to join our Product team. This is a full-time, in-person position at our headquarters in Roseland, NJ. The ideal candidate will be experienced with sourcing food & packaging, strong at implementing & improving systems, and excellent at maintaining organization across multiple projects—pulling it all together to launch products on spec, on time, and on budget. Role Responsibilities Own sourcing & custom product development from receipt of brief to approved prototypes, including feasibility, costing, sourcing, packaging, QA, and vendor coordination. Manage the sourcing & packaging development teams, which currently include 3 full-time employees and supporting contractors. Lead the exploration of early-stage concepts to evaluate their feasibility from a sourcing and cost perspective. Partner closely with the Food Safety & Quality team to ensure that suppliers & products meet requirements from government agencies and retailers, avoiding unexpected issues later in the process. Partner closely with the Supply Chain team to hand off products with approved prototypes for purchasing & logistics, ensuring thorough information transfer. Create and improve systems and processes to expand the number of sourcing projects that the team can handle, allowing the company to accelerate the pace of product development. Collaborate with the CEO on the company’s overall sourcing & product development strategy, providing insights on the ground realities that inform the product roadmap. Required Experiences & Skills 8+ years experience in sourcing from food manufacturers 3+ years experience in developing custom products with food manufacturers 3+ years experience in packaging sourcing or development Experience in candy is ideal, but not required Experience in collaborating directly with creative teams to develop packaging & collateral Ability to define system requirements and create efficient processes Organized, with a strong attention to detail and superior follow-through Experience managing a team while being a results-oriented individual contributor Overview of Benefits Competitive compensation Great medical benefits 401k with a 4% company match A culture of diverse backgrounds, united by curiosity about others unlike themselves A role that makes a big impact on the overall team & company Company-paid international vacation at your 5-year anniversary!
