The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
The Senior DDI Network Design Engineer will work within Network Services Architecture organization, focusing on global design, architecture, standardization, and emerging technologies related to Enterprise DDI solution and other network related areas. The engineer will lead and drive the development, sustainability, and operations to support the Network Services Enterprise DDI environment. The engineer must demonstrate industry knowledge in DDI (BlueCat), Software Defined infrastructure, cloud (AWS and Azure) strategies, data center and WAN technologies, global load balancing, load balancing, and with automation development and workflows. The role will develop reference architectures, support existing standards through a comprehensive review process, and develop standards based upon business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Establish and Maintains Technical DDI Standards.
- Interface with other technology towers and vendors.
- Act as escalation point for critical operational issues.
- Recommend and oversee implementation of DDI technologies or maintenance of solution.
- Recommend and lead efforts in the area of optimization and automation.
- Improve environment on all levels (Ops, Deployment, Design, Tools, etc.).
- Review and improves DDI network architecture standards as well as proposed Network Changes.
- Design, and Review Scopes of Work with both internal and external teams including budget aspects.
- Oversee implementation efforts across the enterprise Network, Data Center, and design to insure expected outcomes with both internal and external.
- Act as Network Team lead (SME) on projects as it relates to Network Services with Business partners, and other teams.
- May conduct training and knowledge transfer to internal and external team members as required.
- Participate in Technology Strategy sessions and direction.
- Lead and Participate in Manufacture and Technology team learning.
- Review security releases and provides guidance to address those potential threats (CVE’s).
- Certify and recommend hardware platforms and code versions.
- Collaborate with IT Security on best network security practices.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigation for Severity 1 Incident & Network Outages.
- Participate in capacity management and planning, as well as leads efforts to reduce operational costs.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of proven experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and managing large-scale BlueCat DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM), project delivery with focus on performance optimization and scalability is required.
- Experience with BlueCat including AD and Route 53 Integrations.
- Deep understanding of network architecture designs with In-depth knowledge of DNS, NTP, IPAM, BIND, and DHCP.
- IP Management including issuance, inventory, tracking, and reporting.
- Experience architecting, implementing, and configuring the BlueCat OEM platform.
- Experience working and participation in supporting & troubleshooting incidents, engaging in escalation bridges, as well as driving whiteboard and discovery sessions.
- Extensive knowledge in Perl, Shell, and Python scripting is desired to automate Network Task and Improve operational efficiency.
- Experience in analyzing DDI Logs and Reporting.
- Assist with enterprise network automation efforts, developing scripts and tools to streamline network software defined solutions, and reduce manual workload.
- Operate and manage technical DDI projects and work with other teams.
- Working knowledge of network management and monitoring platforms.
- Working knowledge of switches, routers, load balancers and firewalls and their interactions with DDI.
- Working knowledge with Route 53 and Bluecat operations & integrations in the Cloud (AWS, Azure).
- Network Operating Systems: MS Active Directory, Linux, UNIX, etc.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 7+ years of experience in DDI design, engineering, deployment, maintenance, or administration (required).
- Proficiency in DDI BlueCat Products and experience with DNS and DHCP configuration.
- Solid understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
- Familiarity with BlueCat’s REST API and experience in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and Postman API platform to automate DDI tasks.
- Familiarity with security best practices for DNS and DHCP, including DNSSEC and network segmentation (Internal & External).
- Domain Names and services with 3rd party providers (Cloudflare).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Shell, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) and Ansible Automation Platform to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency and 5+ years’ experience.
- Solid understanding with Servers, Appliance, and Operating system associated with BlueCat Solution.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and leadership levels.
- Networking and protocol knowledge and understanding.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $155,000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX, or Jersey City, NJ office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
