Title: Sr. Financial Analyst

Location: Playa Vista, CA *fully onsite*

Compensation: $100,000.00-$110,000.00/Year

Duration: FTE Direct Hire

Work Requirement: US Citizen, GC Holder, or Authorized to work in the U.S

Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, assessing clients' financial performance and driving strategic decision-making within the organization. Leveraging experience in financial analysis and forecasting, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide valuable insights to business partners and senior management, guiding key initiatives and optimizing financial outcomes. The analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic mindset of the Senior Financial Analyst will be instrumental in identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for funding and expenses.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, to support decision-making.
  2. Develop and maintain financial models for business planning and assessing financial forecast changes.
  3. Coordinate, evaluate, and improve budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes.
  4. Partner with assigned departments, hold regular meetings to review financial and operational results, identify corrective actions, and manage financial outcomes.
  5. Prepare actual vs. budget and forecast management reports with variance explanations and present findings to department/budget owners.
  6. Project manage and drive organizational initiatives from development to completion.
  7. Prepare business review presentations, annual budget presentations, and board support documents.
  8. Collaborate with the Accounting team to review and book accruals, reclassifications, and journal entries for the monthly close process.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Highly organized, able to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skillslistening, verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Understanding of business fundamentals: strategies, operating models, functions, and macroeconomics.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Finance and Accounting, including financial statement reporting, consolidations, variance analysis, data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and adaptability.
  • Experience at high-growth startups or Fortune 500 companies, ideally both.
  • Experience with project analysis, financial reporting, and analyzing project expenses versus budget.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel (lookup formulas, pivots, macros), and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to simplify complex analyses into actionable plans.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • MBA or relevant certifications (CPA, CFA) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance experience.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable working in an international environment with availability outside normal hours.
  • Work in a typical office environment with limited privacy and some background noise.
  • Work location: Playa Vista, CA.
